We believe that a home should be a safe space for everyone—especially for the smallest members of the family. That’s why we’re proud to support Child Safety Week, a vital campaign dedicated to raising awareness about preventable accidents involving children.
It’s easy to overlook the everyday items that can pose risks to curious little ones. Window blinds, while essential for privacy and comfort, can present hidden dangers if not properly secured—particularly those with accessible cords.
Every year, preventable accidents involving looped cords tragically claim the lives of children. The statistics are heartbreaking, but they also drive us to do better, inform better and design better.
Our Commitment to Child Safety Week
As part of our commitment to safety:
-
Cordless and motorised blind options, which eliminate the risk of entanglement completely.
-
All of our corded blinds meet child safety regulations, with built-in safety features such as breakaway clips and tension devices.
-
We educate our customers, not just during Child Safety Week, but all year round, about safe installation and child-proofing window coverings.
Supporting safety doesn’t mean sacrificing style. Today’s child-safe blinds come in a range of designs and finishes to suit every room—so you can have peace of mind without compromising on aesthetic.
If you have corded blinds installed before 2014, it may be time to consider an upgrade. Even if your blinds are up to date, ensuring that furniture is kept away from windows can further reduce risk.
